We have been drove with one purpose. That is to share with them the love of God and prepare the way for them come to know Jesus Christ and grow with Him in a personal way as Lord and Savior. And your support has been a great strength to all of VBS staffs and family! Truly, we could never come this far without you...

This year theme is i Hero. Kids will be gathering at Hero Head Quarters every day to join force with God to be a hero and make a difference in their life to serve others and Jesus.

During the month of June we are planing to working closely with Sunday School department and iParents to meet the need of life-time challenging for kids and their family. So we are here humbly asking you to join us in prayer.

for the past two weeks...

I didn't have time to write last week about what our lesson was about, so i will some up two weeks here in this entry.

Week of 2.14.2010:

Verse of the week: The Fruits of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

We discussed and studied Galations 5:22-23. The fruits of the spirit. We talked about ways of how we could become better "fruits" and how to apply them to our lives. One question that still wanders in the air from that week was "Why are you a Christian and how would you prove you are a Christian to other non believers?" Some of us could not explain a good reason as to why they believed in God, so ask your child today and see what their explanation of why God real and why they believe in him.

Week of 2.21.2010:

Verse of the week: 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

This past sunday we studed 2 Corinthians chapter 4. The main topic of it was jars of clay and being a light in darkness...
"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. " 2 Corinthians 4:8-9. We talked about how this stood out to us and could relate to our daily lives comparing it to how if we are put into a box and shipped out we'll be bumped from side to side, crushed, hurt..etc.. but we would never be destroyed. The earth is the box and the object inside the box represents us. People and things can always put us down and discourage us or hurt us, but we won't ever be destroyed as long as we have God in our lives. Because the only one who can destroy us, is ourselves and that is when we lose faith in God. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4: 18
We also discussed this verse that stood out to us. It tells us that we should not focus on materialistic things and things here on earth because "nothing is forever"on earth...but what is unseen like God, is what is forever and eternal.

Sunday School Lesson: Feburay 7

Theme: Jesus Turns Water to Wine
Bible Story: John 2:1-11
Memory Verse: Isaiah 26:4

"Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength."

Key Point: Ask children,"Who do you ask for help when you have a problem?" Their answers will vary (for example Parents, Friends, Brothers & Sisters, and Teachers). Help them to answer by what the Bible tells us through today's lesson that there is someone we can always trust to help us with problems. That's Jesus!

Today Children learn the first miracle of Jesus. And this miracle is very different than other miracles of Jesus. Ask children;

  1. What are the differences.
  2. What does mean when Jesus said to Mary, "My hours has not yet come."
  3. Why Jesus calls Mary "Woman" instead of "Mother?"
  4. At the end of this story, what two reasons are given for Jesus performing this His first miracle?
  5. Why do you think through this miracle Jesus' disciples believed in Him, but not others?

Middle school class

this week our theme of the lesson was "living to please God" based on 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12.

Key verse: "Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody." 1 Thess. 4: 1-12.
We discussed about experiences that middle school and high schoolers will face. We learned how to face peer pressure with drugs and sexual immorality and other temptations through instructions by God. "therefore he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit."-verse 8.

B.L.T.- Sunday School Lesson Test

This week we had run "Bible Lesson Test" for Sunday School Children & Teens. Teachers and parents were preparing it for a few weeks based on the lesson of this month: 1. Jesus is Baptised 2. Temptation of Jesus 3. Jesus Chose Disciples. The test was provided in three different levels with the written & oral format.

The answer to the question "Why Test?" is the same for the Sunday Children & Teens as for any other child & teen at school. We all want our children to receive good educations to succeed in college, on the job, and in life. And we all understand how test can provide detailed information about the child's learning needs, and measure child's progrees. Then, "Why Not Test?"

The purpose of B.L.T. is provide good test. Good Test can ...
  • Identify individual or classroom strengths and weakness in area of weekly Bible lesson based, allowing teachers to tailor thier lesson plans to focus more on areas of study where student need the most work.
  • Allow the church, Christian Education Department, and Sunday School to indentify area of need and to target extra help and support in need.
  • Help parents to restore the parentship in teaching God's word in home based.
  • Encouraging children to work harder to meet the need of learning God's word to empower thier life.

It's not easy task, yet we are determind to work together as a teacher and as a parents. So Thank you, i Parents, and Suday School teachers who has been work so hard to teach our children to learn the word of God with the Sprit of 3.5!

Sunday School Lesson: January 24

Theme: Jesus Chose His Disciples
Bible Story: John 1:35-50; Mark 1:16-20; 2:13-14; Luke 6:12-16
Memory Verse: Romans 12:1

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service."

Key Point: While Jesus was on earth, He chose twelve disciples to follow Him. The twelve disciples were ordinary men whom God used in an extraordinary manner. The Bible record the constant failings, struggles, and doubts of these twelve men who followed Jesus. However they transformed into powerful men of God who turned the world upside down. (Acts 17:6)

Ask children how Jesus called His disciples, and what did the disciple take with them when they followed Jesus? Encourage the children to make a difference in the world as Jesus' disciples.

Sunday School Lesson: January 17

Theme: Jesus is Tempted
Bible Story: Mathew 4:1-11
Memory Verse: James 4:7

"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will free from you."

Key Point: How we can overcome the attack of our enemy, when he comes to take us out of God's will for our life.

It is important for children to undertsand the key words like "Fasting" and "Temptation. " Help children to answer the three ways that the devil tempted Jesus and how Jesus' used the word of God to win over the temptation.

Ask children the questions like; 1. Why Jesus was tempted by devil even though He is God? 2. How did Jesus win the victory over the devil's temptation?

Middle school class

Week: January 24, 2010
Theme: LOVE
Bible key verse: There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. 1 John 18-19.

This past week we have learned about love by loving one another, including our brothers and sisters. " if anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God who he has not seen." -1John 20 We learned that without love, we are nothing because God IS love. Love revolves around our lives and if we have a perfect LOVE relationship with God, we have nothing to fear.

this past month, we also have been learning different things from working for the Lord wholeheartedly and not for men (Colossians 3: 23-24), although we can not physically see God we know he is there (hebrews 11:1), and for the new year, getting rid of our old corrupted selves and putting on a new self by maturing and growing away from decietful things by having a new attitude in the ways of God. (ephesians 4: 22-24)

Sunday School Lesson: January 10

Theme: Jesus is Baptised
Bible Story: Matt. 3:1-17
Memory Verse: Mark 16:16
Key Point:
  1. John's baptism, water baptism is for repentance and the remission of sins.
  2. Jesus' baptism is a baptism of Holy Ghost and fire.
  3. God loved Jesus and was very pleased with Him.

Today children learned Baptism of Jesus Christ. It is important for children to understand the key words like; Baptize "to immerse in water for the forgiveness of sins" and Repent "To turn away from wrong and toward right."

Ask children questions like; 1. How did John feel when Jesus asked him to baptize him? 2. Why Jesus Christ was baptised by John Baptist as God Himself who has no sin?

Parents Meeting

Dear iParents,

Last Sunday Parent Meeting was held at Board Room. We found lots of supports and encouragement in a variety of ways. We shared our goals and weekly lesson plans with the parents from month of January to April.

With reinforcement from the parents we planned to create the better learning environment for families in general and children in particular. We recognized the need to increase the quantity and quality of growing as individuals, and families. We also recognized monthly scheduling test for each children based on Sunday School lessen.

To able to meet the goal we will continue to offer the list of resources we hope will encourage and equip parents in seeking God's presence, wisdom and provision for each children.

iParents, please join us together to spiritual and scriptural journey to empower our children's life!

2010 theme of OBMBC

3. 5

Today children were introduced 3.5 theme of 2010. Read Matthew 5:13 with children at home and talk about being salt as Christian.

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men."

During the children worship we did run simple lavatory testing that delighted the children's attention. We used salt (3.5 %) and water (96.5 %) to test out the saltiness of sea water. All you need is table salt (or sea salt), clean water, bowl, and weigh measure machine. Children will love to show you this demonstration at home.

Children will be encouraged to bring their art or presentation based on 2010 theme. It will be display on 4th Sunday at Fellowship Hall. For the detail information please contact children's Sunday School teacher.
